Civil claims and compensation in Abu Dhabi
Begin with the source of the claimed right: a contract, an unpaid obligation or a claim for damage. Set out the amount, the events and the document supporting each part. A claim for compensation requires assessment of its legal basis, the alleged damage and its connection with the events; a requested amount does not prove the claim.
Prepare the financial and evidential record
Bring the complete agreement, invoices, transfer records, demands and relevant correspondence. Record payments already made and distinguish principal sums from other claimed amounts. Establishing a right in a civil case and enforcing an existing judgment are separate tasks. If a judgment already exists, provide its full text and any enforcement decisions before choosing the next procedure.
Organising a civil payment claim
Separate the principal amount, payments already made, compensation sought and any other requested obligation. Link each item to its basis, such as a contract, transfer, acknowledgement or correspondence. Identify what the other party actually disputes: the obligation itself, its amount, performance or the basis of a compensation claim.
Explain the loss as well as the allegation
Provide the alleged act, the damage said to result from it and the records connecting the two. Distinguish documented loss from an estimate that requires calculations or expert evidence. The review should identify a supported claim rather than begin with an unsupported compensation figure.
